In this article, we will explain how to send Ethereum (ETH) from Coinbase to a MetaMask wallet.

How to transfer ETH to your MetaMask wallet
Step 1 | Sign in to your Coinbase account.
Step 2 | Click the ‘Send/Receive’ button at the top-right of your Coinbase dashboard.
Step 3 | Sign in to your MetaMask wallet through your browser extension.

Step 4 |Copy your MetaMask wallet address to the clipboard.
Click on the browser extension to open MetaMask. Next, hover over your account details at the top of the MetaMask window. You will see a ‘Copy to Clipboard’ dialog box appear — simply click the icon to copy your MetaMask wallet address.
Step 5 | Paste the address into the wallet address field on Coinbase.
In this field, you are instructing Coinbase on where to send your Ethereum. Therefore, it is good practice to visually confirm the wallet address before sending.
Step 6 | Enter the amount of crypto that you wish to send, then click ‘Continue’.
If you are sending a large amount of crypto, it is highly recommended that you send a small amount first to confirm that you are sending it to the correct address. If you send it to another Ethereum address that is not yours, you will NOT be able to recover your funds.
Step 7 | Review the transaction on Coinbase. When you are ready, click ‘Send now’ to finish the transaction.
Please note, your transaction will show as ‘Pending’. It may take some time before your transaction can be completed depending on demands on the Ethereum network (this is especially true during peak hours).
Step 8 | Open MetaMask to confirm that you have received your Ethereum.
As mentioned, it may take some time for the funds to show in your MetaMask wallet due to network congestion. Have no fear — they will appear!
